Salvaging Beginner’s Guide

Salvage is one of the best game loops available for citizens that have learned the basics of Star Citizen. It is a great way to rack up some credits for minimal upfront costs as this salvaging beginner’s guide demonstrates. Drake Vulture

The Vulture is a light industrial ship that rips. Rip RMC and construction materials. Craft multi-tools, canisters and fuses. What’s not to like?The Vulture can be purchased at the New Deal ship shop on Hurston for 2.65 million auec or you can purchase the ship online for $175. Note prices are subject to change.

Minimum recommended component upgrades include the Atlas quantum drive and an additional Abrade module. Both optional to start out. While some go on to recommend military grade A component upgrades, those components may be a bit out of reach for new citizens.

Off the shelf upgrades

The following component upgrades are readily available when it comes time to kit out:

• LumaCore or StarHeart powerplant (69,300/51,975 auec)
• Atlas quantum drive (39,900 auec)
• ZeroRush coolers(2x) (18,900 auec)
• 7SA ‘Concord’ shields(3x) (28500 auec)

While the Concord shields offer a bit less HP pool, the decreased power draw can come in handy as the Vulture is power limited.

Panels or Contracts ?

While salvaging panels in the Aaron Halo seems a safe bet, claims of 500,000 auec are likely nothing more than click bait. Expect to make around half of that figure especially when first starting out. Also consider salvage contracts. These have the added benefit of allow you to salvage components and weapons. While you cannot sell weapons, thank the dupers, you can save yourself millions in auec vs outright purchase.

Harvesting top tier ship Components
